Tutorial 3: About Clovis folders
and licences
In order to send information using Clovis, you need a sender
licence. Sender licences are issued by Steelhead Systems.
Please contact us if
you want to purchase sender licences.
All you need to receive unencrypted Clovis e-mails is an
installed and registered copy of Clovis. However, to receive
encrypted Clovis e-mails, you need a reader certificate for
your particular sender for the particular folder they are
sending data in.
Examples:
1. Bob wants to send unencrypted Clovis
data to Alice, in a folder called ‘News update’.
They both download, install and register Clovis. Bob needs
to get a sender licence for the News update folder.
2. Bob wants to send encrypted Clovis
data to Alice, in a folder called ‘News update’.
They both download, install and register Clovis. Bob needs
to get a sender licence for the News update folder. Alice
needs to get a reader certificate for receiving data from
Bob in the News update folder.
3. Bob wants to send encrypted Clovis
data to Alice, in a folder named ‘News update’.
Eve also wants to send encrypted data to Alice, in the same
folder. All three of them will need to install Clovis. Bob
and Eve each need to get a sender licence for the News update
folder. Alice needs to get two reader certificates: one
for receiving data from Bob in the News update folder, and
one for receiving data from Eve in the News update folder.
